Job interview: LSC 1503 interview assignment 



For this assignment it was required of each student to undergo an interview held by the class teacher and two other classmates. I choose to write about Omar Abdulla’s interview ID /950003331/ and our teacher Mr. Hedley Butterfield interviewed him along with Khalifa Omar ID /H00233516/ and Ahmed Salem ID /H00058017/ and the interview was on Monday 24th September 2012.


After greeting Mr. Omar the questions started as it’s shown below:

1-Tell me about yourself.

   -I'm Omar Alshehhi ;I’m 34 years old,married,currently work in ADIB as senior manager and have 17 staff members who work in the branch.

2-Why should I hire you?

   - Because I have good experience in this field; I’ve worked for HSBC for 4 years as customer service and in Etisalat for 7 years as customer service and in the complaint department which gave me a great experience with dealing with other people and pressure.

3-Why do you want to work for our company?

   -To get a better job chance and improve my skills by working in a big multinational company

4-Can you work under pressure?

   -Of course, due to my work in the complaint department in Etisalat I have worked under pressure; for an example we had a big problem regarding the scratch card that it had no balance when customers tried to recharge and we solved it .

5-What is your greatest strength?

   -I think it’s working under pressure and working with big teams


6-What is the most important thing in running a team?

   -To work within the company rules and to keep everybody satisfied and get the best out of my employees.

7-Where do you see yourself in 3 years?

   -I’m planning to work hard to reach the position of senior vice president of the company.

8-What are your goals?

   -My main goal is to be great at my job and be well known in this business field as one of the best managers.

9-In terms of salary, how much are you hoping to make? Or: what salary you are worth?

   -Honestly I’m looking for a salary that is no more or less than 30% of my current salary.


The interview ended by thanking the interviewers for their time with a promise to contact Mr.Omar.From my personal opinion I think that Omar did a good job and he was well prepared for the interview and had  good answers for each question; also he didn’t have any bad body language shown .
